Another busy week at the Legion! We had our general meeting where we held elections for the year for our executives. We say goodbye to some long standing executives and we thank you for your years of service and help. We did have a few new faces join us and are excited to see what the year will bring! Thanks to all who attended.
We had our Remembrance Day contests from local students and they all worked so hard on their projects!
The winners of the Literary Contest: 1st place – Joseph Hanson, 2nd place – Jovi Fehr, 3rd place – Simon Cadden.
Poster Contest Winner: 1st place – Ayla Linklater, 2nd place -Briar Folden, 3rd place – John Dumagat. Thank-you to all the students who participated, they all did a wonderful job!
We had a great turnout at karaoke last Friday. There were a lot of funny moustaches, real and fake ones running around the lounge! A great evening had by all!
Saturday was our first of the bonus turkey draws at the meat-draw. The bonus turkey draw will run until Dec 21, with the amount of turkeys increasing each week. Rick took home our first bonus turkey! Congrats and thanks to everyone who came out and supported! The next bonus two turkey draws will be next Saturday November 30th. So come on down and join us on Saturdays for your chance to win your Christmas dinner!
Upcoming Events:
Friday, November 29th we will be hosting an open jam and wing night starting 6pm and running until 11pm. Bring down your instrument, singing voice or appetite. We will have a variety of flavoured wings and they are only $5 (while supplies last) So hurry down for a night of chicken wings and music! Everyone is welcome!
Sunday December 1 is Shuffleboard, everyone is welcome! 12:40pm registration and 1:20pm the games will begin.
We are hoping to start a fun pool league in January. The sign up sheet is down in the lounge or you can contact us on our Facebook page for more details.
Also a big thank you to Ann Hegglin and crew for your donation of a deep freezer to the legion! It was even delivered! Thank you so so much!
