Last week I put a small brain game in my column of the birds in the tree, my count was 24. This week the picture is of the birds in the tree with red circles around them so you can see where they all are.
How many did you get? Did you get the same amount as me? Did you get higher or lower?
As I stated in my last column, I love playing brain games, things that make you think as you must concentrate on where to look, what’s missing or added in.
Physical exercise is great for your heart, and body and mental health, but there is also things we need to do for ourselves which of course is looking after what helps to keep us going that would be our brains.
As we age, we start to lose some very valuable cognitive health. Brain games are a great way to start off your day, and they will take away that morning fog that we sometimes get in the upon waking. Brain games are great things that don’t cost you money and have so many benefits. They can improve your short term and working memory so that you can recall things easier. Your brain’s processing speed increases with brain games by helping to process information. Brain games will help with your reasoning abilities which of course then helps with solving problems, adapting to new situations. Brain games will strengthen your attention and focusing by helping you to concentrate on certain tasks, they are great for people with learning disabilities. They can help to improve your mental flexibility, which supports our emotional well being. They help to slow down or delay our age-related decline.
If you have never played any brain games, now is a good time to start. There are so many different types, like crossword puzzles, sudoku, checkers and chess, mahjong solitaire, match games, scrabble is one of my favs, boggle and other games.
So many different things out there to get your brain waking up and working, don’t let the age-related decline get you.
Thank you to all that played my small little brain game with me of looking for the birds in the tree, I hope you had fun doing the game.
