What You Search Is What You Get – But is it Correct?

Ever notice how you can talk about something near your phone—maybe a vacation, a workout trend, or a new diet—and suddenly your feed is full of it? That’s not coincidence. Algorithms are designed to track what you talk about, search, and click on, then show you more of the same.

The health and wellness world is no different.  If you’re constantly searching for quick fixes—like fad diets, “magic” supplements, or the one and only supreme fitness program—the algorithm will keep feeding you more of that. The more you click, the more you see. Before long, you’re caught in a loop and down the rabbit hole leaving your head spinning.

That’s what makes navigating the health industry so challenging. It’s information overload, and nearly every opinion can be backed up by some source if you search long enough. But here are a few things worth keeping in mind:

  • A. Does it sound too good to be true? If so, it probably is
  • B. Have you tried it, and can you realistically sustain it?
  • C. Everybody is different—so every body responds differently. There is no one-size-fits-all.
  • D. Consider your age, lifestyle, and current health status.
  • E. Genetics matter—what works for someone else may not work for you.
  • F. Seek professional guidance to help narrow the information.

When it comes to health and fitness, don’t believe everything you see or read online. It’s great to stay informed, but make sure your sources are credible and evidence-based. And if you find yourself stuck in a cycle of research without action, maybe it’s time to take a different approach.

Health doesn’t have to be complicated. Your body was made to move and thrive on real, whole foods. When you focus on that, everything else improves—your mood, your mind, and your overall well-being.

That said, even with good advice, it can still feel overwhelming. You might wonder:

  • How much exercise is enough?
  • How many days should I start with?
  • What exactly are whole foods?
  • Are microwave meals okay if they say “healthy” on the label?
  • A deli sandwich has veggies and meat—does that count as whole food?
  • What if I don’t really know how to cook?

These are valid concerns—especially if you’re new to meal prepping, cooking, reading food labels, or exercising. Maybe you’re dealing with health limitations or simply don’t know where to start. It can feel like an impossible task. That’s when confusion builds, frustration sets in—and for many people, that’s the point where they give up.

That’s where we at DEEM come in.
We’re here to help guide your way—whether you’re starting from scratch, getting back on track, or just needing clarity. We help you simplify the process, personalize the plan, and make progress that sticks.
