When you were a child you probably had chicken pox. Even though chicken pox left your body the virus never did the virus that causes chicken pox and shingles is called varicella-zoster.
Shingles can affect your face, body and your eyes which could affect your vision it will look like blisters. Shingles won’t kill you, but the pain can be unbearable. There are some vaccines that can help lower the risk of getting shingles.
Shingles rash very itchy which turns into blisters can scab for about 7-10 days, within 2-4 weeks. A painful condition that could cause pain from shingles making the pain stay longer after the blisters have cleared is called Postherpetic Neuralgia usually shingles will only affect one side of the body. Some of the symptoms could include pain, burning, and tingling, sensitivity when you are touched, after the pain begins a red rash will appear, blisters with fluid that will break open and then crust over, and a lot of itching will occur. Other symptoms that some people may have are a fever, headaches, sensitivity to light, fatigue. chills, and an upset stomach.
If you have any of these symptoms see your doctor right away, especially if it is around your eye as left untreated it could result in eye loss.
