Notes From the Lumby Public Market – June 25, 2021

Another great day this past Saturday at the Market. Lots of vendors, and patrons. It was so much fun.

Let me introduce you to the vendor of the week: Dawn Casey.

Dawn has worked with Mosaics (she’s the one I got my mosaic art work from,) Dawn has also made wonderful displays of art in upcycle glass for your gardens. You will find this very creative person at our market on Saturdays. At the market you will find her new display of really cool jewelry that she has made out of Vintage China Dishes.

When Dawn was making Garden Art from Upcycle Glass, Mosaics, Stepping Stones, Crockery, and Plates for her designs she found herself becoming very attracted to the beautiful designs on Vintage Fine China, and other types of dishware. A new thought came to her. Instead of having these plates load up the landfill, why not create something that would be useful, different and beautiful, something people could appreciate.  Being someone that likes to research different things, and finding unique ways to create nostalgic and very interesting items. Dawn took some time and learned how to make Vintage China Jewelry. Her jewelry became a hit. This is jewelry that can speak to your heart, bringing you happy memories of a time once forgotten, like maybe sitting at  Grandma’s table and having the sweet smell of her baking wafting through the house.

Dawn is not only at our market on Saturdays, but you can find her creations at The Village Gallery, Earth Elements, and on Etsy under her business name of Artfull Shenanigans (make sure when looking for her site on Etsy to add 2 ll’s to her business name.)

Also at our market you will find other types of jewelry, Watkins, Tupperware, Gel Moment, Photography, Epicure, Homemade purses, Jams, Plants,  Bannock, and so much more. There is always something for everyone no matter what age at our Lumby and District Public Market.

Come see us every Saturday we are open 9:00 am- 1:00 pm until Thanksgiving Weekend Rain, Hail, Wind, or Shine we will be there.
