Did you know Lumby’s very own Robin LeDrew’s painting of Howard James Whitevalley Transfer truck was selected in 1990 by the BC Artists Association to be displayed temporarily in galleries throughout British Columbia? Robin later donated the painting to a Women’s Transition House fundraiser event. The painting sold for $2,000.00! Robin came to Lumby in 1969 from Vancouver and continues to be a strong avocate of the Arts in our community. The Monashee Arts Council first opened in the former Family Cafe building in 2013 and in 2016 moved to their permanent home today in the space formerly occupied by Viva Hair Salon.
