Well Halloween is over and Christmas is around the corner (I know don’t remind you). Winter is still holding off, the nights colder but the day’s sunny.
This Saturday we are holding the Widows and Veterans Luncheon in the Hall up stairs. If you wish to attend call the Legion at 250 547-2338 or Meg Irwin at 250 547-8824 leave a message. On November 11th the annual Remembrance Day Service will be held at the Cenotaph. The parade to the Cenotaph will head off from in front of the Legion at 10:50 am. Everyone who isn’t in the parade should be at the Cenotaph before then. The service starts at 10:59.
After the Remembrance Day service everyone who wishes is welcome to come to the Legion. There won’t be a Meat Raffle that day, but we are raffling a $100.00 Meat pack in stead.
And now on to other things. I hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween Karaoke? The next Karaoke is on November 17th. The Zone Sports Play Downs are coming up. The Pool Play Downs are on Sunday November 19th. The lounge will be open at noon play will start shortly after. Cribbage Play Downs will be on Sunday November 26th, again the lounge will be open at noon, play to start shortly after. Darts Play Downs be will Sunday December 10th, more information on darts to follow. These are not necessarily friendly competitions, we are competing to see who will represent us at the Zone Play downs and or at Provincial Play downs. So, only serious players should attend and you have to be a Legion member in good standing.
There are still plans to have our Twelve Hours on December 2nd, so keep that date in mind. Every Thursday afternoon we are having a Jam session, so come down and join us. Thursday nights there is darts in the lounge. And the next Shuffleboard is on Sunday November 5th.
The next meeting is on November 15th executive at 6:00 pm general meeting at 7:00 pm. Members make every effort to attend. We are electing next years executive. WE NEED A QUAROM.
