Welcome to Colleen’s Corner. This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc. l have lived in Lumby just over 8 years you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer: The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.
While we were away in Arizona, every time someone had asked us where we were from, Tim and I would respond by saying “Bring Cash” Canada. At first, we would get the look of “what are you talking about” until we would tell them where we really were from, this always brought out a big laugh from the people we were talking too. We said it so often that I phoned up my friend Kodiak and asked him to make up this sign for me. We hung it on the outside of our motor home. Whenever someone would come over this is the first thing they saw. It was a great opening, and which of course brought more laughs.
We had gone looking at some other RVs as the town we were staying in has huge RV shows. The one place we stopped at, the salesman asked where we from. I told him “Bring Cash” Canada. When we told him where we were really from, he called his co-worker over that used to live in BC, the guy asked his co-worker “what does BC stand for?” Of course, the co-worker replied “well, it stands for British Columbia”. The first guy broke out laughing and said “nope, it stands for Bring Cash.”
Everywhere we went, we would say the same thing, which always brought out a good laugh for everyone.
One day Tim had to take the RV to the dump site to get rid of the water, garbage, and to refill the propane. He had forgotten to take the sign off first before pulling away, everywhere he went people would stop and talk to him and of course Tim being quite the talker would tell them about us being from Canada, how we asked our friend to make it up for us and how good it looked on the motor home and of course everyone got a good laugh out of the sign. We were just lucky the sign never flew off from the drive. After that day Tim would always be sure he took the sign down first so it wouldn’t fall off and then we would lose it. Wherever we travelled to Tim would hang the sign back up on the side of the motor home.
It’s an awesome fun sign, that has gotten many laughs, and I am sure will bring in even more.
Thanks Kodiak, for bringing so many laughs to so many people.
