Benny, Rachelle Lowe’s Dashchund, confronts ‘Talos – the Steampunk Bull’ on the Lumby Salmon Trail on Oct. 23rd. This entirely digital 3D sculpture is in fact an augmented reality (AR) filter, and the digital bull can be placed anywhere in the real world with an Instagram AR filter and viewed through one’s smart phone.
‘Talos’ is inspired by a large oil painting by Rachelle’s artist brother, Trevor Jones and the digital AR asset was created by a production studio based in Columbia, South America. Trevor has been working at the intersection of art and technology for over 10 years and his artwork has sold to collectors around the world.
Trevor graduated from C.B.S.S in 1988 and has lived in Edinburgh, Scotland, since 1999. However, he spends time whenever possible, back ‘home’ to visit his Mom, Penny Jones, in Lumby and other family and friends throughout the Okanagan.
You can visit Trevor Jones’ Instagram at @trevorjonesart and find his AR filter to play with your own Talos – the Steampunk Bull sculpture anywhere you like.
