‘Understory – The Secret Life of Plants‘

The forest that makes up approximately 62% of the landscape of BC. What lays under the towering canopies of the great trees, take a look into the ‘Secret life of plants’ with Junes upcoming show at the Village Gallery in Lumby with ‘Understory’.
Artists have taken a closer look at the hidden, overlooked, and imaginative dimensions of the plant life that surrounds us every day. From roots to canopy, micro to monumental, take a look at unusual perspectives on the familiar—works that reveal what might be happening beneath the surface or beyond what the eye typically sees.
Join us in bringing the understory to light.
The show runs June 1st – June 26th at the Village Gallery 1975 Vernon St. in Lumby

Call For Artists -Sit, Stay, Art
MAC invites artists to share and celebrate the profound and often joyful relationships we share with our animal companions. From loyal dog and independent cats, to birds, reptiles and a wide variety of our beloved animals, works have the ability to explore themes of connection, comfort, play and mutual understanding and we invite artists to interpret these bonds.
At its heart we hope that ‘Sit, Stay, Art’ will honour the quiet moments, the unconditional loyalty and the unique stories that exist between humans and animals – offering viewers a chance to reflect on the companions who shape our homes and hearts.
Show Dates: June 29-July 24
Application deadline: May 30
