Did you make it to Lumby Days this year? I hope you had a blast. I of course was inside so I didn’t get chance to see all the festivities outside.

This is the first Lumby Days in a very long time that there was no rain. Usually on at least one day of this weekend there is so much rain it’s like being in a monsoon. But this time it was sunny and hot for the whole weekend.

For Lumby Days Tim and I rented a campsite at the Lumby Lion’s Campground it’s much easier for us. The Lion’s Campground is a great spot to be, the host Cheryl is great and always tries to find a spot for everyone.

We pack up our car drive it over to the curling rink on Friday evening setup and go back to the campground for the night. Early the next day we walk over to the curling rink, we never have to worry about finding a parking spot that is extremely hard to find. We get into the curling rink and finish setting up. There’s a few people wandering through, the doors open at ten to the public. It’s fairly quiet inside just before the parade, once the parade is over the curling rink comes to life with a lot of people coming through.

It’s exciting to see so many new faces that come from everywhere. Some were from Lumby,  Coldstream,  Lavington, Cherryville, Kelowna, Vancouver, Enderby, Hope, Chilliwack, there was also the people from out of province, Ontario, New Brunswick, P.E.I. and Newfoundland it was wonderful talking to everyone wherever they were from.

After our Saturday is over we go back to the campground and chill.

Early Sunday morning we walk over to the OAP HALL and have a delicious pancake breakfast then head back to the Curling rink to start our day again, at the four pm the rink is closed to the public the vendors put all of their leftover items away for their next market and go home. We packed up our car took our stuff home and came back to campground for the night. At times it’s very tiring being a vendor so when we got back to the campground we sat back and relaxed for the rest of the night. When we got up the next we asked Cheryl the great host of the campground if could stay another day or so, she said of course we could. And so we did!

If you have never been to Lumby Days, check it out it’s a whole lot of fun, with a lot to see and do.

If you would liked to be at the campground to stay during Lumby Days book ahead as early as you can, the campground fills up fast.

I will be there at Lumby Days again next year, I would love to see you there as well.
