A Place New To Me

Welcome to Colleen’s Corner. This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road  or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc.  l have lived in Lumby for over 8 years, you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer:  The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.

On my walks lately the Salmon Trail going through the end where the insurance place is and leading out to the Lordco area has been closed for awhile now so instead I have decided to take the other route. I took some of it the other day and it took me to behind the Rusty Spur. The next day I went a little farther and came out by White Valley Veterinary Hospital. This was nice and different for me.

The following day I went further and came out across the road from D&M auto recycling. Today I crossed the road and followed the Salmon Trail around D&M to the next sign. Then I turned back and came home, as of course there are things to get done.

I  didn’t know this Salmon Trail went out to where it goes. I usually go to the  Monashee Family Park off the Highway or I follow the Salmon Trail from the insurance to Lordco and back again.

It’s amazing when you go out for a walk the new things that you can discover in your own town.

I  have a couple of appointments in the next few days but I am going to try to follow the Salmon Trail from D&M all the way around to see where it goes. I know lots of you have probably been through there before but it is a new adventure for me.

It’s a good thing that the portion of the Salmon Trail that I usually walk through was closed otherwise I might not have found the other trail.

The walk was good, and the sun was shining, my sunglasses were on my face, but I forgot my hat in the car, I will have to remember my hat the next time while I go for my next walk/adventure.
