Welcome to Colleen’s Corner. This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc. l have lived in Lumby just over 8 years you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer: The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.
Last week I went to visit a friend that I haven’t seen for awhile, so of course we hugged. Apparently, that was the incorrect thing to do. As I sit here writing my column, I am sniffling, sneezing, coughing, and my ears are plugged so no talking on the phone for me today. I won’t be able to hear anything. This has been happening since the day I visited my friend.
She seemed to be okay, so I didn’t think anything about possibly getting sick. Wrong! I feel crappy right now but of course that will pass in a couple of days. Of course it could have been the waitress or the cook or other staff members at the restaurant we were at that could have been sick and passed it on.
Here it is upon us once again, cold and flu season, possibly even COVID, I guess I now will have to cancel my flu shot that I was supposed to get tomorrow. It’s ok, I hate needles anyways.
Time to bring out the anti-bacterial wipes, Lysol spray, Micro-Ban etc. and wipe everything down in the house that I touch, including my keyboard.
So of course, I have been taking my Echinacea and Hot Lemon with Honey. I took some Vitamin C today, in hindsight this is probably a little late, I should have been taking the Vitamin C before today. I guess I will start taking Vitamin C everyday now instead of waiting until after the fact.
But, all is not lost. The sunshine is coming in my living room window, it’s a little chilly out there which of course it is to be expected after all it’s near the end of October, but the warmth from the sun still feels nice coming in my window. By the time I write my next article I should be feeling a lot better, and I’ll go outside and if it’s sunny I will wear my sunglasses, because as you all know my saying; it’s always a good day when you can wear your sunglasses.
Note to self, no hugging or shaking hands during this season.
