This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc. l have lived in Lumby for over 8 years, you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer: The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.

It was great on Canada Day to see so many people come to the Oval Park to help us celebrate it.
Thank you to the Lumby Chambers, The Village of Lumby, RDNO, all the volunteers, the vendors, and of course all of you for being there.
I remember when I was a kid how my parents always told me to be proud of your country, it is a great one.
When we went to school everyday we sang O Canada, and God Save the Queen, although I guess now it would be God save the King.
Even to this day when I hear our national anthem being sung whether it is at a live presentation or even on TV I proudly stand up and sing along with it. To me it is one of the best anthems out there.
Tim and I went away to the states a couple of years ago during the winter for about 6 months, people ask me if I am going back. The answer is absolutely not. Not while that insane power hungry bully and his crazy sidekicks and other staff are there, we will not be going back there at all. Like a lot of true Canadians, we will travel to other places, and Canada has some of the most beautiful spots in the world to see.
I know of some people that still go over there, and unless they are visiting family, my question to them is “Why”? Shopping is no longer cheaper, nor is the gas. Their casinos are not that great. We have good ones here.
Now there is always the chance that you will be hassled and detained at the border, deported to some unforsaken country because you have tattoos, you have an accent, or the colour of your skin is different, their reasoning would be that the tattoos, accent or skin colour means you are affiliated with a gang.
The bully across the border has said ” he has a lot of Canadian Friends”. I haven’t met them yet. And the Canadians that did want him to win the election I hope you have come to your senses and realized he is not your friend, but a warmonger tyrant that has nasty plans to ruin our beautiful country; Canada!
The Big Beautiful Bill should just be called BS. Congress passed this bill which of course we knew they would as they are all in his back pocket the BBB is great for the very rich people. Over there the rich get richer and the poor get Sick and Die!
The people that live over there now want to come here to live including Doctors and Nurses, this is great news for us because we could really use them here. I can’t blame them for wanting to come to our country, we are a good country to live in, we are kind, accepting, and thoughtful. We don’t want to start wars with other countries, then blame the other country saying it was all their fault.
I am a true, proud Canadian, I will always stand up for my country, The true North Strong and Free.
