I hope everyone is taking advantage of the chance to enjoy the fall weather. We encourage people to join our Monashee 50+ Club. The membership fee is only $20 a year.
Just a few reminders of upcoming events:
The Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 14th at 10:00 am, followed by the general meeting at 10:30. Time is getting short if you wish to nominate someone for the positions of President, Secretary, and three directors. Nominations papers can be picked up and returned to the present executive at any time.
Bingo is held every Tuesday and doors open at 5:00 pm, card sales begin at 5:30, and the games begin at 6:30. Join the bingo players for a social night out of fun and maybe even some profit.
Mark November 21st on your calendar. That’s the date of the next OAP meal. Connie and her crew deserve thanks for preparing and serving the October 17th meal.
I visited the Quilters group at the OAP hall on Monday, October 21st. The quilters meet, rain or shine, every Monday from 9 am to 4 pm. I was impressed with how committed and community-oriented the quilters are. It was an honour to have the chance to watch them diligently working at their sewing machines, producing amazing quilts. They have made dignity quilts for the Mews and have made quilts for raffles and other projects, such as aprons and carriers for walkers, for Saddle Mountain Place residents. They also make a quilt for the first baby of the year. Whether quilting is a passion of yours or you are interested in finding out about quilting, you should check out the Quilters group. The fee is $15 a month, drop-in is $5 and the first visit is free. If interested, contact Kaye at 778-473-9013.
Have a wonderful week and a happy and safe Hallowe’en .
