Lumby O.A.P Monashee 50+ Club, Branch 117 lumbyoap@gmail.com

News from the OAPO/Monashee 50+ Club – May 9, 2025

The next General Meeting of the Monashee 50+Club (OAP Branch 117) will be held on May 8th at 10 a.m. The guest speaker will be Brenda Blanchet.

Our new fridge has arrived and we are grateful for the Village crew who graciously installed it in the kitchen .and removed the old one.  We started the spring cleaning in the kitchen. It looks great. Special thank you to Connie Paulson, Cindy Derry, and Lauren Cox.

Thank you to those who have dropped off books for our book cart. We are still collecting books if you want to drop them off.

It is time to step up and volunteer. Monashee 50+ Club needs your help to make our activities successful. Hats off to all our volunteers who give selflessly of their time to come and help with our monthly luncheons. The next luncheon will be on May 15th. Menu to follow in the next few weeks.

Here are some ways you can help where it is needed:

BINGO: We need a caller, cashier, and floor walkers, as well as help with the concession. To volunteer, contact Rose at 250-306-6381 or Nancy, at 250-558-7087.

LUMBY DAYS: We need just an hour or two of your time to help with the Pancake Breakfasts on both Saturday and Sunday.

FARMER’S MARKET: The Monashee 50+ Club will have a booth at the market to provide breakfast and lunch. We need volunteers to take care of the table. Once again, just an hour or two of your time. Please contact Connie at 260-306-9841, or Nancy at 250-558-7087 to volunteer for Lumby Days and Farmer’s Market activities.

The building next door, Cottonwood Place, is looking amazing. As of late, they have been finishing the outside landscaping. It’s very attractive with the shrubbery along the edge of the building and the attractive patio dividers on the first level of the building.

If you know of any senior under the weather or just needing cheering up, please contact Jacquie, our Sunshine Girl, at 250-547-8913.
