News from the OAPO/Monashee 50+ Club – May 23, 2025

I hope everyone enjoyed the Victoria Day weekend despite the rain. We were lucky that the rain held off on Saturday until the Public Market was finished for the day. Thanks to Connie and her crew, we had delicious breakfast buns for sale at our booth and all of them sold. We hope to see more of you there next Saturday and maybe, just maybe, you will feel the inclination to roll up your sleeves and help.

We still need volunteers for Bingo, for the Lumby Days pancake breakfast at the OAP Hall on Saturday, June 14th and Sunday, June 15th,, and for the Lumby Public Market every Saturday. Just an hour or two of your time or a commitment of one Saturday a month for the Market would be helpful in sharing the load of those members who give up a great deal of their time for all club activities in order to make them successful. Please contact Rose at 250-306-6381 or Nancy at 250-558-7087, to volunteer for Bingo, and contact Connie at 260-306-9841, or Nancy to volunteer for the pancake breakfast and the market.

The next general meeting of the Monashee 50+Club (OAP Branch 117) will be held on Thursday, June 122h at 10:00 a.m. Anita Dunford will be our guest speaker and she will talk to us about ways to help seniors keep their pets.

Norma is still taking orders for OAP Branch 117 LUMBY name tags at $8 each. Please contact Norma at 778-212-2397.

If you know of any senior under the weather or just needing cheering up, please contact

Jacquie, our Sunshine Girl, at 250-547-8913.
