Howdy once again! First off, I hope everyone is enjoying the lighter and longer days now that we have changed to Daylight Savings Time! Spring will be here before we know it and little buds will soon be popping out of the ground! Secondly, I have a very important apology to make regarding the confusion over the date of this month’s luncheon! It is not this week, it is Thursday March 21st with doors opening at 11:00 am! I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but sometimes things just get muddled up! We do have posters around town and it will be posted on Around the Block Lumby and Facebook, so hope that not too many show up thinking it’s today! The meal the ladies are going to prepare is going to be delicious. It includes Ham, Scalloped Potatoes, a Vegetable and Salad for the main course and a special dessert to top it off. The cost for the meal is $10.00!
Apparently, there was a pretty good turnout at our General Meeting last Friday, about 24 attended, with lots of input from our members! It appeared that many are willing to volunteer to help wherever necessary. But felt more information or advertising as to what is happening at the Hall, or where they could volunteer their services, would be beneficial. Weekly activities are posted on the board as you walk into the OAP Hall and include the following: Monday – Quilting 9:30 – 3:00, please contact Kaye if you are interested at 778-473-9013, and Pool in the afternoon. Apparently some women are interested in learning to play which is wonderful! So if you are interested please contact George Zarr at 250-547-6695. Tuesday – Bingo – Doors open at 5:30 Bingo begins at 6:30 and Concession is open until intermission. Wednesday – Monashee Art Council from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Contact the Village Gallery for more information. Thursday – every third Thursday is our Luncheon, Pool in the afternoon and Sassy Senior Social on the first and third Thursday of each month from 6:00- 8:00 pm. Friday – Fiber Friday from 10:00 until noon. Fiber Friday is going very well but has relocated to the United Church for March and April. It will be back in the Hall in May. Yoga is also going well on Friday afternoon but is cancelled for this week and should be returning next week. Please contact Norma Bouzek at 778-212-2397 for more information.
