News from the OAPO/Monashee 50+ Club – April 5, 2024

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter Weekend!  The weather was great for Easter Egg Hunts!  Apparently Thomas Tusser from England many years ago wrote a short poem, ‘Sweet April Showers Do Bring May Flowers!’ Sure do hope the old saying is true because we certainly could use the rain!

We have a few items to share this week which may be of interest to you! Pam Dyrda was kind enough to provide me with an update on our Ladies “pool lessons!” Ron Kirstchner, has been teaching these ladies for about a month now!  Apparently he is a great teacher and most of the women are beginners, just interested in the game!  Last Wednesday at 11:00 am, in the basement of the OAPO Hall, seven ladies attended the lessons!  These ladies are hoping to get enough gals interested in playing pool so they can start a women’s league.  So if you are at all interested, please join them Wednesday at 11:00!

Just a reminder of the guest speaker on April 12th at 2:00, prior to our General Meeting.  An RCMP member will be speaking on Senior Frauds and Scams and how we should be aware of them.  Also April 18th, our special luncheon which I believe is Roast Beef and all the trimmings, will take place.  Our dedicated ladies who include Sally Adrian, Marj Charest, Lauren,Cox Marie Fisher, Irene Forrest, Sheri Hornell, Julia Jones, Connie Pauslon, and Maureen Thompson enjoy preparing these monthly luncheons! We thank them for their monthly commitment!

That’s it for now!  Have a wonderful week!
