It’s so hard to fathom that we are nearing the end of April! The weather has been lovely and the days are longer making it easy for us to enjoy the outdoors!
Apparently our General Meeting last Friday was quite successful with 27 people attending. Thank you all for coming! Cpl Kevin Kwast, from the Lumby RCMP detachment, discussed the scams and thefts through telephone, computers, texts, and mail. The bottom line is we should never give out our name, SIN number, birth date, address, or credit card number to unknown callers. It was very informative and if you are still concerned, or have any questions, more information can be found on the ‘Canadian Fraud Prevention Centre’ sites.
Next Thursday April 18th roast beef, gravy, mashed potatoes, peas, salad, and Sheri’s special oatmeal cake will be on the April Luncheon menu! All for $10.00! Doors open at 11:00 and lunch is served at 11:30. Please call Marjorie at 250-547-6049 if you would like a take out by Wednesday evening prior to the meal. That way it gives us an idea of how many meals the ladies need to prepare for. On that note, we will be losing one of our very valuable ladies, Marie Fisher who has volunteered her time and enthusiasm over the past year in prepping and preparing meals for everyone! We will certainly miss her involvement. Pam Dyrda, one of our Directors with a small group of members has gone through our Constitution with some proposed amendments and has encouraged members to read over the document and provide feedback. Her group will also work on the Policy and Procedure Guide once the Constitution is completed. One final note that we all need to be aware of, is beginning in May, our General Meetings will now be held every second Thursday of each month from 10:00 am 12:00 pm. So our next General Meeting will be Thursday May 9th, 2024.
