The original Shuswap Falls School was built in 1903 by Fred Finlaison and Fred Warner. This building was later used as a chicken house on the Stephenson farm when a new school was built on the Lumby side of the Falls. In 1928, when the power plant at Shuswap Falls was put into operation, the Shuswap Falls school was the first school in the province to have electric lights. In 1955 the building was moved to Lumby were it was used as a Youth Centre. In 1993, the building became the Lumby & District Museum. In 2021, a new addition was added to the building to provide a meeting place for not-for-profit organizations. Watch for the Lumby & District Museum grand opening in June 2022!
