Moments in Time – Photos & Memories from the Lumby Museum – Rene Dahinden

Rene Dahinden (1930-2001) came to Canada in 1953 and lived for a time in Lumby in a small cabin on Miller Street – property now owned by Sylvia Fiset. Rene was fascinated with the unproven existence of an elusive, hairy, human-like-creature known as the “Sasquatch”.  He spent his life searching for the creature, but never found it.

In the 1980’s Dahinden became famous as a spokesman in the popular Kokanee beer commercials that featured a “Sasquatch” stealing his Kokanee beer.

Rene and wife Wanda had  2 children: Erik and Martin.
