Moments in Time – Photos & Memories from the Lumby Museum – Merrit Diamond Mill

On July 7, 1965 the Merritt Diamond Mill located south of Lumby on Whitevale Road burnt to the ground.  Merritt Diamond began operating in Canada in 1945 and the Lumby Division was a 100% kiln-dried operation that specialized in a variety of superior white pine lumber items including quality roof decking.  Weyerhaeuser Canada would later occupy the site.
