In 1968, Lumby 4H members Pat Deuling and Bryan Ertmoed won a  trip to the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) to compete against 18 other 4H teams from around BC?  Their entry – “Off With the Horns” won a fifth place ribbon!  This was the first time the Lumby 4H Club received a ribbon at the PNE.  The Lumby 4H leaders at the time were Roy and Thelma Quesnel.  Did you know Lumby’s 2024 Citizen of the Year, Murray Freeman was also a member of Lumby’s 4H club in 1968?  The PNE 4H competitions have been around since 1910 and run from August 15-18th this year.
