Moments in Time – Photos & Memories from the Lumby Museum – “Jack” Herbert Tolley – December 9, 2022

“Jack” Herbert Tolley (1935-2018) was born in Richmond, BC and came to Lumby in 1951.  He married Greta Verboom in 1958 and together they raised cattle and pigs on their farm on Mabel Lake Road.  In 1997, the Tolley’s sold their farm and moved to Lumby.   Jack so enjoyed volunteering and coaching – the Lumby Flying Frenchmen, Chamber of Commerce, Lumby Wildlife Club, Vernon Pigeon & Poultry Club and many athletic teams benefited from his dedication to the community and the people he loved.  It was Jack and Greta who donated the land to form Tolley Park on the Shuswap River.
