Douglas Storey (1928-1997) was a proud Lumby veteran who served aboard the HMCS Athabaskan during the Korean War (1950-1953). Doug came to Lumby In 1968 and purchased Derry’s Lumby Flour & Feed store. Doug called his store “Farmers Supply” (now Ace Hardware) and operated the business until 1975 when he opened a home-based business making furniture. Doug married Norill Wills in 1952 and together they had two sons: Patrick and Michael (married Suzette Rouck).
