It is believed the first feed store in Lumby was operated by Harry Seed around 1891.  In the 1940’s, the business was operated under the name “Derry’s Feed Store” and later as “Lumby Flour and Feed”.  Doug Storey purchased the business in 1968, establishing “Lumby Farmer’s Supply”, a name that held even after he sold the business to Bob and Rene Austin in 1973.  The Austin’s expanded the original building and sold only the business (not the buildings) to Vern and Don Bigelow.  In September 1998, employees Andy Sherman, Gord Catt and Bill White purchased the business and operated under the name “Greenridge Ventures”.
