This past weekend saw both of our Lumby Stars U13 teams compete in their home tournament. Lumby Stars Somerset sailed through the round robin in convincing fashion to make it to the semi- finals. Nearly every player on their team made the scoresheet and their goalie Dawson Teagle posted 2 shutouts and only allowed 1 goal through the first 3 games. Lumby Stars Bevan was steadied by first year goalie Jasiu Zawadzki on their way to two wins and one loss in round robin play, which was enough to finish first in their pool.
The round Robin results pushed both Lumby teams into the semi-finals Sunday morning. Bevan’s Stars won Sunday morning to go to the Finals against the Kamloops team that beat Somerset’s Stars Sunday morning. Bevan’s Stars came up short in the final game and finished second in the tournament behind Kamloops after a hard fought battle. All of the players represented our Association and community admirably and have a lot to be proud of with their performances over the weekend.
