The Lumby Airforce Flying Club would like to thank the weather and our sponsors NORD, The Lumby Days Society, Advanced Designs, Hydro Concepts Custom Coating and all the flyers and volunteers for supporting the 2025 Lumby Air Races. One participant said he was flying with more than 10 different nationalities on the 1st Sunday of the 7 day event.
Many good and great flights were achieved, thanks to the nice weather.
The winners this year were
- 1st Place Paragliding: Bill Goglin – Williams Lake BC (On Sunday Bill Flew from Coopers Launch to Revelstoke in just over 6 hours and reached elevations of 10000 ft )
- 2nd Paragliding: Ike Burkhart -Lumby BC
- 3rd Paragliding: Xavier Nadeau – Aubin – Quebec City PQ
- 4th Paragliding: Susan Rowbottom -Enderby
- 5th Paragliding: Brad Trites – Kelowna
- 1st Hang Gliding: Evan Smith – Nelson BC
- 2nd Hang Gliding: Bala Iyengar – Merritt BC
- 3rd Hang Gliding: Stew Trowsdale – Vancouver BC
2026 will mark 50 years for the L.A.F. and organizers are planning on a special celebration and Lumby Air Races to mark the occasion.
