So we are in the mids of April showers. Hopefully the weather will get better soon.
As said last week we are planning some live music events in the hall. The first of these events will be on June 3rd. Red Dog and No Bad Days will be playing in the Legion Hall. There will be a cash bar and food available. There is a cover charge of $5.00 for Legion members and $10.00 for non-members. This will cover the cost of the bands. It will start at 8:00pm and go to 11:00pm. If this is well attended there will be more live music coming in July. There is also a Karaoke in the lounge on May 19th.
Please remember for all of you Darters the Gramma and Grampa Dart Shoot is on May 6th. This is a dart shoot for the 50+ age group. It is open to everyone, you don’t have to be a Legion member to play. The fee is $40.00 and this will include lunch and prizes.
There are still darts on Thursday nights and the there is pool and shuffleboard and a dart board available any time the lounge is open.
Last Saturday the Lions Club hosted the meat raffle to raise funds for their projects. As I understand they made $1400. Thank you to the Lions and all others who came to the meat raffle.
We have Compiled a list members who are entitled to year pins for continuous membership in the branch. This list goes back a few years, so some of you will have been members for more years than the year pins you receive indicates. The following Ordinary to receive year pins are, Joseph Brown, Tim Wilson, Ted Demarce, Guy Legare, Vern Smith and Lionel Wheeler. The Associate Members to receive pins are Vecelia Cameron, Vickie Carson,Jim Catt,Joan Cowan, Michael Cowan, Bonny Darby, M. Darby, Hilda Eckert, Joseph Engler, Colleen Fielding, Judy Gibbs, Wynn Hartfelder, Chris Kennett, James Legare, Steve Miller, Lori Mindnich, Rosemarie Neufeld, David Patterson, Curtis Reimer, Daniel Rose, Darline Scott, Jeffrey Scott, Vernon Scott, Cory Smith, Fred Smith, Leona Smith, Victor Smith, Allen Stonehouse, Donald Underhill and Cyrilla Zimmerman. And the Affiliate Members are WayneCurrie, Lorne Dufour, Wather Hamascher, Delma Knelsen, Steve Lumley, Dennis Schafer, Corrine Stonehouse and Trevor Thompson. All of these pin will be at the branch. Please come down to the Legion and pick them up, they will be in the lounge.
The next general meeting is May 17th at 7:00 pm. All members should make every effort to attend. If you are on the list to receive a year pin, you can pick it up at the general meeting.
