We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Lumby Food Bank Drive, led by Lumby and Lavington Emergency Services, was amazing! Thanks to the support from our communities, over 5,100 lbs. of donations and $2,600 in cash was raised with more still trickling in. This could not have been accomplished without the incredible help we received from so many, especially Emergency personnel, who took time off from their evening to help restock our shelves!
A special shoutout goes to the amazing grad class of 2023-24 for their energy and commitment. From sorting donations, dragging boxes, and heavy lifting—you were unstoppable! Also, thank you to all who generously donated their trucks, time, and family members—you helped to make this event a smooth ride, literally!
To all the kids who came in to help—you rock! Young and old, it was such a special treat to have you all on board. Little hands, big hands, young hands, old hands… many hands make light work, and we had them all!
This year was one for the books—it was probably the most organized we’ve ever had! Over the next few weeks, we will be working through every box, organizing and putting things away. It’s a job that is long and tedious but it’s so rewarding watching those selves fill.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated—whether it was time, food, money, or prayers. A huge thank you to the hard-working folks who continually strive to make things like this happen! We are so very grateful for each and every one of you!
