I was about to put my daughter’s horse down for a leg injury when I got a second opinion from local vet, Dr Burleigh, who had vetted some endurance rides my daughter and I attended in BC. Dr Burleigh quickly identified the underlying issue and referred us to life saving surgery instead of euthanasia. Everything the surgeon found in her examinations confirmed Dr Burleigh’s original hypothesis and our beloved horse is expected to make a full recovery. Dr Burleigh is nothing short of incredible and her knowledge single handedly saved our little mare. Here’s to.a local hero who’ saved the love of a little girls life, I thought it would make a great story. .She literally dropped everything to save a little girls horse. Not all heroes wear capes.
