Join the Magic and Mayhem at the Village Gallery

Within the realms of our imaginations the impossible becomes possible, there exists a captivating duality – the delicate dance between magic and mayhem.
One is the ethereal power that defines logic and reason, weaving a tapestry of countless worlds and tales yet to be discovered. It is the spark of creation, an unseen hand guiding heroes through epic quests, and the source of wonder that stirs our imaginations. From witches brewing potions, mythical lands to mythical artifacts with untold powers. Magic adds a touch of enchantment to some of our favourite tales.
The other is the chaotic catalyst. Mayhem can be seen as the unruly twin to magic, thriving on the unpredictable, the chaotic, and the unexpected. It is the whirlwind of mischief, an agent of change and the wild card that keeps us on the edge of our seats guessing what will happen next.
Together they can come together like two sides of the same coin to create something legendary!
Immerse yourself in the visual adventure as artists let their imaginations run wild reminding us that sometimes something truly magical can arise from the unexpected twists and turns of an artist’s imagination.
October 2nd through November 3rd at the Village Gallery 10am- 4pm.
Art Classes are Back!
We are excited to bring you another great program of art classes by our very own talented local artists! Last year’s program was a wonderful success with fully booked classes and lots of positive feedback. Program Director Jeannette Wilding began it all with the vision of helping Lumby become the “Best Little Art Town in the Okanagan”. “We have such a vibrant arts scene here, with so much potential. There are so many talented artists in our area.”
The purpose of this program is to provide on-going weekly art classes to the community, offering classes in a variety of mediums, build a sense of community and support during the winter months, and provide an affordable supportive space for people to develop their creativity. The vision is to engage local artists in sharing and teaching their skills to the community. Also, to promote the advancement of the arts in our community by providing a weekly art space and instructors.
Classes will be held at the Lumby O.A.P. Hall every Wednesday night 5:30 – 8 p.m.
For inquiries, contact Program Director Jeannette Wilding @ 250-777-2540
Many thanks to the Monashee Arts Council for the Arts Grant that made this program possible.

Call for Artists – Public Curation Program
The Arts are becoming increasingly visible in our community!
So far, Ida’s Bakery and Deli and the Whitevale Veterinary Clinic have become part or MAC’s Public curation program. This program connects businesses and the public with the amazing art of local artists, three times throughout the year the art is changed over at each location – giving an opportunity for local artists work to be seen, and considered for purchase all while they brighten and enliven our local businesses. We hope to soon include a rotating display of art for the enjoyment of our residents at the Monashee Mews.
Art sold through the program will be subject to the same commission as art sold at the Village Gallery.
If you are an artists interested in participating in any of these displays or are a local business that would like to participate, we welcome you to email us, call or pop into the Village Gallery to chat with us.
Deadline for new work is October 19th, drop off at the Village Gallery.
