Colour is everywhere — in the sky, the trees, the mountains, water, flowers, and even in what we wear. It lifts our spirits, stirs our imagination, and brings the world to life.

This July, Splash of Colour celebrates the magic of colour through the delicate and expressive medium of watercolour. From bold and bright to soft and subtle, each piece invites you to see the world through the eyes of local artists.

Call for Artists – Off the Page

 July 28th – August 29th

Not all art can be found on a page or even a canvas that hangs on a wall. Art can exist literally anywhere; it can be found in any shape, any size and any medium. The possibilities are endless.  An example of this pottery, from a lump of clay artists create amazing functional objects that we us for decoration and for our everyday as functional art.

If you look at fibre, be it natural or synthetic, the possibilities are again endless, from sewing, quilting, and embroidery and beyond. There are so many mediums that we do not always even imagine as art such as wood, jewelry, metal work and leather. Every medium has its own endless list of possible creations.

So, we invite you to get creative and break off the page! Lumby is waiting to see what you create.

Application Deadline July 26/2025

Call for Artists – First Nations Art

 September 2nd – October 3rd

We invite First Nations artists in our community to share your creativity and cultural expression in our upcoming Indigenous Art Show at the MAC/Village Gallery in Lumby.

Whether you work in traditional or contemporary styles—carving, painting, beadwork, weaving, or any other medium—we welcome your voice and vision. This is an opportunity to celebrate the richness and diversity of First Nations heritage and to showcase the powerful stories carried through your art.

The exhibition runs September 2 to October 3, Monday to Saturday, 10 AM – 4 PM at the MAC/Village Gallery, 1975 Vernon Street, Lumby, BC.

If you are a First Nations artist and would like to participate, please bring your work to the gallery during open hours or contact us in advance for more details. We’re honoured to create space for Indigenous voices and look forward to sharing your work with the wider community.
