We are thrilled to announce the opening of “Spring is Coming,” a captivating new exhibition from the North Okanagan Federation of Canadian Artists. This beautiful collection of artwork celebrates the long-awaited transition from winter to spring, capturing the quiet anticipation that accompanies the changing season. Each piece in the show offers a unique perspective on the renewal and growth that spring brings, from lush landscapes to intricate, delicate details.

Call for Photographers – Captured Moments

It’s time to get ready for the next show at the Village Gallery, get your cameras out for a showcase of photography.

This show is Open to all ages, and is inclusive to all people who love taking pictures, whether showcasing a favourite subject or as a person exhibiting technical knowledge, whether with a cell phone or digital camera. Additionally, the theme of this show is Open, your choice.

The only stipulation is that the photos must be ‘ready to hang’. The size and presentation is up to the artists letting their artistic process show through! So whether framed, printed on canvas, metal, or a collage or other series of related images photography is a versatile and fun medium!

We are looking forward to seeing what people submit!

Acting Classes Return to Lumby!

This past month saw the first weeks for Theatre classes being held at the Theatre at CBSS hosted by MAC and instructor Will Cullen of MoveBetter, starting with Introduction to Acting & Character Creation and working on becoming familiar with moving around the space, finding their stage presence and having fun while doing it!

So great to see all ages joining together to explore the performing arts!

Art Classes 

Kids classes – ages 6-12yrs

Do your kids want to create? Join us every Thursday from 3-5pm at the Lumby OAP Hall where youth get to explore their creative sides as they try out various forms of artistic mediums in a fun, encouraging environment.  With a focus on skill building and just generally having FUN and being Creative!

Register at the Lumby Village Gallery as space is limited and classes fill up fast.

Lumby Square Dance Club set to keep the Fun going

After a lively and successful dance on January 18th, the Lumby Square Dance Club is ready to keep the momentum going. With three squares of enthusiastic dancers, the event was such a hit that organizer Will Cullen is eager to continue building the club.
Join us for two more fun-filled afternoons of dancing! Mark your calendars for Sunday February 9th, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the OAP Hall. Whether you’re a returning dancer or new to the square dance scene, Will will review the basics to ensure everyone feels welcome and has a great time.
This is a non-profit event, and while there’s no set fee, a small donation to help with expenses is appreciated. Let’s keep growing the fun—spread the word and bring your friends and family! All ages are welcome, and we look forward to seeing you there!
