Where Were You For The Sun Eclipse 2024?

Welcome to Colleen’s Corner. This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road  or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc.  l have lived in Lumby just over 8 years you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer:  The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.

While we were in Arizona this year we were sitting with some people we had met and watched the Sun Eclipse. It was pretty cool, although where we were we probably only saw about 65% of it. But it was still great. We were all out in our shorts and T- shirts wearing our specially made solar eclipse glasses, the weather was about 21 celsius and on that day here in Lumby it was about 5-7 celsius (brrrrr)  The wind came later that day in Arizona but it held off until after the show, that was a good thing as the wind there can get fairly high. It was an enjoyable day, sitting with new people and relaxing in the warmth.

I haven’t worn my shorts since I came back as the weather is still a little chilly here, and I am still not climatized yet. But that should be changing in the next week or so according to the long term weather report. And then, great! We will all be wearing our shorts, T- shirts, and of course our sunglasses. Getting some badly needed garden and yard work done, having fun in the sun. Oh, boy I can’t wait. Just thinking about the warmth on my face again is brightening up my day even though it could rain again today, but that’s okay as good things are about to come.

My sunglasses will be coming on very soon, and of course you know what I say: it’s always a good day when you can wear sunglasses!
