What a Fun Night!

Welcome to Colleen’s Corner. This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road  or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc.  l have lived in Lumby over 8 years you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer:  The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.

The 16th annual Lumby Business Awards was this past Saturday November 23, 2024.

There were a lot a people there, congratulations to all the runner ups and the winners. Thank you to all that had nominated The Lumby and District Public Market as well, although the market did not win it was nice to be nominated.

The meal was fantastic catered by the Blue OX, Ribs, Roasted Chicken, Meat Balls, with great salads and cupcakes for dessert, thank you.

The theme this year was Neon Birthday Bash, and as you can see, we had way too much fun with all the glow sticks that were handed out at the door when we arrived. Everywhere you looked there were glowing people all around, if I didn’t know better you would think we were loaded with radiation.

Some of the people played Heads or Tails where we had funky glow glasses to wear, we stood up and the people on the stage would flip a coin, and if you thought it would be heads you put your hands on your head, or if you thought the coin would be tails you would put your hands on your butt, it was pretty good.

They had keys that they would sell to open trunks ours didn’t fit in any of the trunks, but oh well maybe next time.

All the tables played Music Trivia, my one complaint about the night was that at the back where we were you really couldn’t hear anything that was happening up front on the stage. Down the road, it would be good to have speakers at the back of the room as well as at the front of the room by the stage.

This aside the evening was a fun good time.

Thank you to the Lumby Chambers and everyone else involved for putting on a such a fun night for everyone, good job it was great.
