After an intense series at the U13 district Championships from March 16-18, the U13 Lumby Stars faced a narrow defeat in the semi-finals with a score of 2-1. Although they were prepared to conclude their season, an unexpected turn of events unfolded. A discrepancy in the adherence to player policies by the finalist teams led to a second chance for the Lumby Stars. They geared up for a redemption match for the district championship banner against the Lillooet Pistons in Chase on March 23. The game was a testament to sportsmanship and determination. Lumby secured an early lead of 2-0, and despite Lillooet’s comeback to level the score, Lumby regained momentum to clinch a decisive 6-2 victory.
The season was a testament to resilience and teamwork, culminating in the Lumby Stars being crowned as North Okanagan Super League Champions, Playoff Champions, and OMAHA District Champions.
