Photography is my passion. Disclaimer:  The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.

On November 26, 1939, a third child was born to the parents of Floyd and Zelma Bullock giving the child’s name of Anna Mae Bulluck. They lived in a small town called Nutbush Tennessee, they were very poor sharecroppers. Being that poor, they couldn’t afford to keep their young children at home the children were sent to live with their grandparents. Singing in the church choir Anna Mae found her voice. When her grandmother died in the early 50’s she once again moved to her parent’s home in Tennessee. Eventually Tina went to St. Louis  While there she would go to Club Manhattan for the R&B scene with her sister. Both would perform. In 1956 she watched a man and his band sing, she knew she wanted to be up there with him. His name was Ike Turner.

In 1958 Anna had a record out called Boxtop which she performed under the name of Little Ann singing with the Kings of Rhythm Ike Turners band.

In 1960 Anna Mae wrote a song called A Fool in Love, it was also then that the name Tina Turner was introduced by Ike Turner. The two became a duo using the name of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. They were a couple having a child together and got married in 1962. Together they had great albums and hits one of the biggest of course was the redone Creedence Clearwater Proud Mary.

The marriage was very abusive and would not last, Ike and Tina separated in 1976 the divorce was final in 1978.

After the divorce, Tina had a hard time finding work to support herself and her children, she would work in housekeeping, never giving up her dream to be a singer once again.

1983 Tina had her wish, Private Dancer and What’s Love Got to Do with it became smash hits, Tina was once again where she needed to be on stage!

This is where always belonged. She then also starred in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome with Mel Gibson.

Publishing her autobiography called I, Tina was so popular a movie with her song title What’s Love got To Do with It was made in 1993 starring Angela Basset as Tina and Lawerence Fishburne as Ike turner.

Ike and Tina were inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991, Tina was there but, Ike could not make it as he was in jail for drug possession, Ike died of an overdose in 2007.

After numerous tours, Tina retired moving to Switzerland where she met her second husband.

In 2013 in her 70’s after 3 months of being married to her second husband Bach, Tina had a stroke. In the year 2016 Tina had been diagnosed with Intestinal Cancer, the following year Tina needed a Kidney transplant, Bach was her donor.

In the summer of 2018 Tina’s son Craig had been found in his apartment with a self-inflicted gun shot wound he was 59 years old. In the fall Tina wrote a book about his death which was called My Love Story.

In October 2021 Tina was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame once again, but this time it was for her only not with her ex-spouse. In the same year a Tina Turner barbie Doll was created.

In the year 2022 Tina’s son Ronnie died, he had Colon Cancer and Cardiovascular disease, he was 62.

On May 24, 2023, Tina died in her home in Switzerland with her husband by her side. She was 83 years old.

Happy Birthday Tina, you were always a great singer, songwriter, and actress, to me a person that I admired.
