This is a column meant for fun and some information About myself: I am a Freelance Photographer you often see me on the side of the road or in various places taking photos of different things animals, birds, places, people etc. l have lived in Lumby for over 8 years, you have seen my photos in the newspaper (Lumby Valley Times) and once in awhile in the Vernon Morning Star, and the Lumby Art Gallery. Photography is my passion. Disclaimer: The information on some of my photos that I write about a lot of times come from the Internet or books I research them, hopefully the facts are as close to the truth as I can come.

Art comes in many different forms.
Some examples could be:
Painting, drawing, sculpture, weaving, sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilt making, beading, gardening, architecture, literature, theatre, cinema, writing, photography, printmaking, decorative arts, poetry, pottery, acting , dancing, singing, creating things, nature, and so much more.
Over the years I have had many forms of art that I incorporated into my life, some I am very good at, and some not so much. I have tried knitting, sewing, and crocheting. Although I love the other creations people can do with this type of art, I am not great at them, they really are not my type of thing to do.
I have done some beading and I did like it, but this is also not my thing to do.
I Love singing, dancing, creating new things, writing, and of course photography. These are some of the things that I love to do and I am fairly good at.
When I take my camera out with me I find interesting things to take photos of especially in nature. There are a variety of birds, wildlife, landscapes, things in the air, water, trees, sky, clouds, sun, and then the surprising things that nature leaves behind.
I call the photo in this article “The face in the rock”. Unusual, and beautiful. My friend had it in her yard. I thought it was stunning, so of course I had to take a photo of it. The leaves and the moss grew on it and around it naturally, it was an amazing piece of art and nature together. When my friend was moving she tried to dig it up to take with her to her new house. But, as she tried to remove it from the ground it started to disintegrate in her hands and whatever was left broke. She was very sad about this as she had wanted to take this unique piece of art with her. On her birthday following her move to her new house, my present to her was the photo I had taken about a year before of “the face in the rock.” My friend has been at her house that she moved to for some years now, and has kept the photo on her mantle.
Over the years I have used my photos in quite a few different things. I have used them in my columns for the things I have written about, and things I have created. I have been working on some new things lately to add my photos to, some work out nicely and some are kind of a “whoops, what the heck was I thinking!”
Whatever you like doing, keep it alive, do it as often as you can, or try something new as it is probably some form of art. And art in any different way is a beautiful thing. It is in the eye of the beholder, which of course would be your eyes.
