Some Good Things Can Be Contagious

It is no big surprise that bringing a smile to another person’s face can help you just as much as them.  In fact, a study done recently by Psychology Research Magazine found that the interaction between witnessing another person’s positive facial movements causes a perception of happiness in the viewer’s face.  Therefore, seeing joy is a contagious sharing of happiness.  What a great thing to catch from someone these days!

“A smile cures the wounding of a frown.” – William Shakespeare

“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.” – William Arthur Ward

“You’ll find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile.” – Charlie Chaplin

“We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.” – Mother Teresa

“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.” – Phyllis Diller

“Never regret anything that made you smile and remember that wrinkles should merely indicate where smiles have been.” – Mark Twain

Loneliness and depression can be quite common in the elderly population.  It can make a huge difference in a senior’s day to simply connect with them; even if it is just a friendly hello and a smile.

Bring some joy to a senior’s face and spread some contagious happiness.

“Today, give someone one of your smiles.  It may be the only sunshine they see all day.” – H. Jackson Brown Jr.
