Notes from the Lumby Public Market – September 4, 2020

Submitted by Colleen Fielding

Do you like to get or give some very unique items?

Have you met Garth Kuraoka? Garth makes some truly great barnwood and other wood things. He has Picture Frames, Walking Sticks, Antique Door Knobs placed on barnwood. He has Apple Boxes with their original Apple Stickers on them. He also does “Live Edge” mantles and frames. On his table you will find Antler buttons, and earrings (very cool)

Garth got his interest in barnwood and wood at an early age. In 1983 he built a timber frame house.  His love of wood had already been there, but building the frame house made him realize how much he loved wood. He has been working with his Barnwood Creations (also the name of his company) for 45 years.

Garth will do custom orders for you anytime. His prices are very reasonably priced. If you stop at his table, this great guy is super friendly and will talk with you about many things.
