Notes From the Lumby Public Market – July 30, 2021

Did you go to the car show this weekend? I have been to a lot of Car Shows in Lumby, but this was the largest one I have ever seen here. I didn’t get to walk around the car show much but I did take a minute or so to check it out, as the Market was extremely busy. We had 30 vendors, and about 893 people came through.

It was amazing! It would be great to have some kind of show like that every couple of weeks.

Speaking of shows, did you hear that our Famous Butter Tart Festival will be back again this September 11 2021? WOW! How exciting is that!

We are going to have so much fun, with a lot of different entertainment for young and older. If you want to buy the Butter Tarts you will need to get there pretty early as they  usually sell out before 10:00 am. If you would like to enter your ButterTarts of any kind, and any flavor email us at btfvendors@gmail.com

We will have Commercial entries, and Private entries any age may enter this.

One year we had Smarties Butter Tarts, Bannack Butter Tarts, Bailey’s Butter Tarts,  etc.(not all of them had been entered in the contest but boy oh boy were they ever good)

The Lumby and District Public Market is at the Oval  Park every Saturday from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm  We have a good assortment of Vendors at our Saturday Market you will find things for all ages. We have Watkins, Bannack, Jewelry, Tupperware, Epicure, Popcorn, Fruit, Plants, Monashee Arts Council, Victorian Lace, Mermaid Tails Keychains, Books,Garth’s Barnwood Creations, Homemade Jams that are very tasty, Homemade Purses, Chain Paintings, Gel Moments Nail Polish, a great variety of Tea, Wood work, Essential Oils, and so much more.

 Come and see us.

If you would like to be a vendor at our market email us at: lumbymarket@gmail.com w

Please Note: We will be closed on certain days because of things that are beyond our control, like very poor air quality from all the smoke, or it is too hot because this year is hotter than usual, and there are a lot of fires, if the air quality level is 8+ which means we are at high risk and the air is hard to breathe in we will be closed for the day.

(you can find the levels out on the website of BC Air Quality or on the local news)

If the forecast says it will be 35 degrees celsius or higher we will be closed for the day. This helps to protect our vendors from heat  and or sun stroke, also it helps to protect them from breathing in all the smoke. As the vendors are out in the park for 5 -6 hours each Saturday.
