I have the privilege of taking over this weekly column from Cheryl Altwasser and thank you, Cheryl.

I am a Director on the Board of Monashee 50 plus OAP and delighted to bring you all the news BUT I will need your help. Please contact me with any information that will assist seniors about events, clinics, entertainment—email me at pubbajean@gmail.com or phone 250-308-2665. I will try to stay current.

Guest speakers at our General Meeting at the OAP, Thursday June 13th at 10:00 will be Lawyers Joe Dueling and Nicole Hunder. This will be a brief outline about the tools in the estate and incapacity planning: Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorneys, Representation Agreements, Advanced health Care Directives and more. This is open to the public and we encourage everyone to attend. To become a member is $20 a year which includes many benefits. Come early to get good seating and stay for the meeting to follow at 11:00. We will be voting on the changes recommended by the steering committee on the Bylaws.

June 20th is our next lunch. Doors open at 11:00 and lunch begins at 11:30. I believe it’s chicken, salads, dessert, coffee and tea, door prizes—all for $10. We are down several volunteers with relocations so please lend a hand, call Connie Paulson at 250-306-9841
