Howdy! OMG! Out little critter in Nanaimo, Van-Isle Violet did see her shadow, which means six more weeks of winter! And, last Sunday morning we woke up to a skiff of snow on the ground! This may be a good thing for the ski hills but a disappointment for others who like the warmer weather! We’ll just have to see if her prediction is correct! The funny thing is Canada’s provinces were divided, some having an early spring while others will have to wait until March!
Once again, we just have a few items to mention this week. The OAP General Meeting is tomorrow, February 9th at 2:00 pm at the Hall. A special ‘Thank You’ is extended to Jacquie Hansen for calling the members every month, to remind them of the General Meeting! We appreciate the time it takes in doing so! Please, if you are able, try to attend our General Meeting, as there are 52 paid up members, but only a few ever turn up! It would be so nice to have input into what would make our club a place you would like to become more involved in! We were hoping to set up a table in between the grocery store and the liquor store, but ran out of time so will be having a booth set up at our first ‘Mini Market’ of the year this Saturday February 10th from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. Please join us if you are able! There are lots of baked goods and amazing crafts on display! Our second Mini Market is scheduled for February 24th!
Our February Luncheon will be held on February 15th and we are serving shake and bake chicken, mashed potatoes, a broccoli and cauliflower medley, green salad, and ‘Death by Chocolate or Vanilla’(for those who don’t like chocolate) for dessert! Please contact Marj Charest at 250-547-6049 if you would like to order a meal. We would appreciate you ordering as soon as possible, as that way we have a better idea of how many take outs we need to prepare for.
Happy Belated Valentines! Until next week!
