Moments in Time – Photos & Memories from the Lumby Museum – Eva (Neufeld) Williamson

Eva (Neufeld) Williamson (1922-2014) married Herbert Neufeld in 1941 and together they raised 10 children: Marilyn, Ronald, Beverley, Harley, Howard, Doug, Dianna, Judy, Bennie and Rodney. The family came to Lumby in 1959 and rented a Rawlings Lake Road property owned by John Laponder (still standing and now owned by Dennis & Lynn Richardson as a storage area).  When Laponder’s house burned in 1961, the Neufeld’s moved to a home owned by Fred Shunter.  In 1962, they moved to Coldstream Ranch, however, some of their now grown children remained in Lumby.  Herb died in 1977 and Eva married Peter Williamson in 1983.

Eva’s son Rodney owned the Lumby Valley Times from 1998-2016 and Eva often joined Rodney delivering the weekly newspapers in Lumby and surrounding areas.
