Three of our local Lumby hockey girls bring home the gold medal in the Steveston Meltdown Tournament in Richmond BC.
The girls played for the U15 Kelowna Heat, a female spring AA Hockey team. The Heat came from behind having placed fourth after the round robin games.
After beating the first place Fraser Valley Sturgeon in the semi finals, the Heat went on to beat their nemesis of the spring season, the Seattle Jr Thunderbirds, 4-1 for the Gold Medal.
The final game was played at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
