Winter finally arrived this month. It has so far been the coldest month this winter season and has also brought the most amount of snow. The goal was to stay warm along with keeping the seniors active this month. The Drop In saw a few guest speakers, game days and some crafts.
We enjoyed several guest speakers this month. We had a special guest from the O.A.P. Hall. Our local Paramedic also came and did a heart awareness presentation. She comes in several times throughout the month to do wellness checks (ex: checking blood pressure, etc.…).
One of our craft days was getting us ready for Valentine’s Day. We made our own special homemade cards. We have a lovely volunteer that comes in with all of her supplies, card stock, stamps and ink. She kindly helps us make our own personalized heart-felt cards. On Valentine’s Day, we had a fondue party with the seniors. We enjoyed strawberries, grapes, pretzels and cookies that everyone could dip into melted chocolate. It was so yummy and this was followed by an exceptional lunch.
In February we strived to not only exercise our bodies but also our brains. We learned a new dice game called 20,000 and did some word game exercises.
As February comes to a close, we look forward to brighter sunnier days in March!
