October 21st, 202020 is Election day for the Pac Executive Council.
These Electiosn will be held via ZOOM. Details to follow at a later date.
The Pac Executive includes: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and DPAC. These positions are all available, however, you may not run for president if you have not served on council before. Included below is a brief explanation of each position.
President: speaks on behalf of the council; consults with council members; presides over general and executive meetings; ensures that an agenda is prepared prior to each meeting; ensures that council activities are aimed at achieving goals; is a signing officer.
Vice-President: supports the president; assumes the duties of the president in the president’s absence or upon request; assists the president in the performance of his or her duties; accepts extra duties as required; may be a signing officer.
Secretary: ensures that members are notified of meetings; records and files minutes of all meetings; keeps an accurate copy of the constitution and bylaws, and make copies available to members upon request; prepares and maintains other documentation as requested by the membership or executive; issues and receives correspondence on behalf of the council; ensures safekeeping of all records of the council; keeps an accurate record of PAC representatives; assists the president in providing information to local news media; may be a signing officer.
Treasurer: is a signing officer; ensures all funds of the council are properly accounted for; disburses funds as authorized by the membership or executive; ensures that proper financial records and books of account are maintained; reports on all receipts and disbursements at general and executive meetings; makes financial records and books of account available to members upon request; has the financial records and books of account ready for inspection or audit annually; with the assistance of the executive, drafts an annual budget; ensures that another signing officer has access to the financial records and books of account in the treasurer’s absence.
DPAC (District Representative): attends all DPAC meetings and represents, speaks, and votes on behalf of the PAC; maintains current registration of the PAC; reports regularly to the membership and executive on all matters relating to the DPAC; seeks and gives input to the DPAC on behalf of the PAC; receives, circulates, and posts DPAC newsletters, brochures, and announcements; receives and acts on all other communications from the DPAC; liaises with other parents and DPAC representatives.
