In Like A Lamb

Yes in beautiful British Columbia we came in like a Lamb. Alberta got a very good snow fall and with their salt shaker of sand distributed the highways looked sad and ditches looked busy. Further east saw even a more Lions approach to spring with sub human temperatures, snow, ice and power outages. Further east and I mean further east, Myanmar was struck with a devastating earth quake and a horrendous loss of life. Northern Thailand was also impacted but much less so. Support from many countries is pouring in but inaccessibility and politics is making it difficult to reach the needy and helpless. Again it seems that the poorest and most oppressed suffer the worst in these horrible natural disasters. As always the selfish and corrupt make things even more unbearable.

The braying donkey to the south continues to fluff and bray, no one knows where they stand and that I’m sure is making a lot of insiders a lot of money based on the fluctuations and inside information that they use to make stock trades and other short term investments. Elon of course will be needing to make up for his latest losses and infamy. Ya right. Some believe as do I that there will be a postponement of the tariffs again that he is threatening and it all applies to the game he’s playing and I do think that this is all an insulting but effective game that he plays. Even if these tariffs are implemented more Americans stand to lose more than we do. I’m sorry for many good peoples losses that are now becoming apparent. Even the most laid back HillBilly will be upset if his parents have been cut off of what we call Old Age Security. I guess they should plant some gardens.

Things are growing nicely in the greenhouse and the weather will be changing late this week from nicely warm to moderately high (18+) daytime temperatures. The extra moisture has been nice and trees are budding, bumble bees are out and a few blooms of flowers should be coming this week. I’ve noticed a bit of damping off in one of my seed trays. A good dash of Cinnamon will clear this up. If you see any sign of failure in your seed trays use Cinnamon if you are unsure of a true prognosis, the results are instantaneous, organic and will not do no harm. Radishes, Spinach and Lettuce can all be planted outside at this time. I have had Spinach grow in the greenhouse all winter and these are all cool weather plants that will do well. Squash and Cucumber type plants should still not be started due to their rapid growth, poor transplant tolerance and the lower night time temperatures. It’s nice to see more buds developing on the trees and the arrival of Bumble Bees. My Husband said he saw a Wasp so I am on my guard with guns a loaded!

Happy Gardening!
